HRH Prince Charles has given his Royal Seal of approval to the major restoration of Grade II listed Boultbee Cottages in the New Forest. The £600,000 restoration and extension scheme brought the historic properties up to modern standards and has been awarded the prestigious Patron’s Award by the Almshouse Association.
The Patron’s Award was instituted in the Year 2000 to celebrate excellence in architectural and living standards and to recognise outstanding projects and developments. There are 31,000 almshouses in the United Kingdom accommodating around 36,000 people.
Simpson Hilder Associates provided Architectural Services for the project and monitoring of the works through to completion on behalf of Emery Down Almshouse Trust.
